Workshop Day 1: On-Site with Greentopia
Friday, October 25, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
321 State St, Rochester, NY 14608
Participants should promptly arrive in the SAU loop at 9:00 am, as the bus will pick the participants up at 9:15 am. We will start at the MCC downtown campus and then head to the High Falls State Park to meet with Greentopia. The bus will depart at 5:15 pm, as the bus couldn’t come earlier.
Please dress for the weather as we will be outside walking around regardless of the weather.
Agenda:
- Walk out of MCC and turn toward State Street. Continue across to Platt toward Pont de Rennes and Browns Race. We can linger and walk up and down Browns Race, but the bridge is not open.
- Go back to Mill St. and walk north till it ends at Falls St. Despite the cleanup construction, we will go down to the Falls to experience part of the future park.
- Come back up Falls and turn onto Genesee Riverway walking trail. Follow the trail all the way to Smith St Bridge and go onto the bridge to see both sides of the future park from above.
- Depending on time, we will turn around and go back to MCC or keep walking across the bridge to Plymouth. Turn right on Plymouth and walk towards Brewery and Falls Terrace Park. This park will be part of the State Park.
- To get back to State St. leave the southern end of the park and go under the CSX railroad track bridge. Turn right onto the sidewalk that runs parallel to the inner loop and follow it to State St.
