EUREKA! Kickoff

Thursday, October 23, 5:00 pm–7:00 pm

Introduction, Team assignments, Community Partner information, and leadership skill information
by RIT Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement.

Workshop Day 1

Friday, October 24, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
City of Rochester Department of Recreation and Human Services, 57 St Paul St, Rochester, NY 14604

Agenda:

  1. Bus leaves RIT no later than 9:00am at SAU/Sentinel Loop (wear t-shirts!)
  2. Bus departure at 9:30 for Department of Recreation and Human Services
  3. Meet stakeholders, tours, Q&A
  4. Lunch
  5. Teams continue refining their concepts with help of planning team and facilitators; Saturday meetings assigned
  6. Leave at 4:30 for return to RIT at 5:00

Workshop Day 2

Saturday, October 25
Individual teamwork

Teams work independently to finalize their concepts for 8 minute presentations to the
community partner, uploaded to Google Drive. One or more meetings with the facilitators.

Presentations

Saturday, October 25, 4:00 pm–7:00 pm
SHED 3350

  • Please upload presentations to Google Drive by by 4:00
  • All teams in the SHED at 4:30 (with t-shirts!)
  • Presentations will be beginning at 5:00
  • Dinner
  • Partner selects concept for implementation
  • Group photos!

Each team will have 8 minutes to present their concepts. Please feel free to present information in the manner that you believe is most effective. (Hint: Storytelling is key to presentations!) All teams will present, and then teams will be excused while judges confer. Judges will provide all teams with comments and feedback and then present one or more concepts to be selected for possible implementation.

Please do not leave before team photos and the final official EUREKA! participant photos are taken!
